Nantucket’s dining scene has always been part of its magic—where coastal charm meets quietly sophisticated cuisine—but in recent seasons, the island has entered an exciting new chapter. A fresh wave of restaurant openings is reshaping the culinary landscape, bringing new energy to familiar streets and reimagining iconic spaces. From elevated steakhouses and inventive cafés to globally inspired concepts, these newcomers reflect a broader shift toward creative dining experiences. Here’s what’s new for 2026.
Bloom Bar (9 South Water Street): After starting as a successful pop-up at The Boarding House, Bloom Bar is moving into its own permanent space (the former Misogi Noodle Bar). It is expected to open in June 2026, offering dinner service alongside a fast-casual morning cafe.
The Island Blend (149 Orange Street): Taking over the former Shangri-La Kitchen space, this new Mediterranean restaurant is run by Milan Basnet of Easy Street Restaurant. The concept is a "blend" of flavors—while Mediterranean-focused, the menu will also include pizza and sushi.
The Dive (15 South Water Street): The former Atlantic Cafe / Charlie Noble spot is being revived by the Sneaky Good Hospitality group. This reopening is highly anticipated as it breathes life back into a prime downtown corner.
Café 22 (22 Federal Street): Recently opened in the former Corner Table space, this spot is quickly becoming a year-round hub. It features fresh daily donuts, specialty matcha and golden milk lattes, a variety of grab and go foods, and is led by veteran Island restaurateur Jonas Baker.
